Åsen & Øvrelid AS is one of the leading construction companies on the west coast of Norway, with headquarters in Førde and regional subsidiaries in Ålesund and Molde. We have around 220 employees and operate throughout the Nordvestlandet region.

What we do:

We specialize in delivering high-quality building projects as a main and turnkey contractor, primarily for public clients and large private developers. Our organization is built for efficient project development and execution, using in-house teams for:

• Project management and construction site management

• System installation and specialized solutions

Sustainability and environmental responsibility

At Åsen & Øvrelid, we take environmental responsibility seriously. Our goal is to deliver high-quality products and services using as few resources as possible, minimizing environmental impact without compromising on quality or delivery.

Certified Eco-Lighthouse Company

Since August 31, 2020, we have been certified as an Eco-Lighthouse (Miljøfyrtårn), a recognized Norwegian environmental management certification. This means we have conducted an environmental assessment and implemented measures to meet strict industry standards.

Through this certification, we have:

• Developed and implemented a solid environmental management system
• Taken steps to reduce waste, energy use, and emissions
• Documented and reported our climate impact, including a full carbon accounting

We continuously work to improve and reduce our environmental footprint — not just to meet current standards, but to contribute meaningfully to a sustainable future.
Proactive Sustainability Strategy

We have also developed a dedicated sustainability strategy for 2022–2025, going beyond certification requirements. This includes clear goals, targeted actions, and ongoing evaluation to strengthen our commitment to the environment and future generations.

Management system

Åsen & Øvrelid operates an integrated management system that meets the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, Eco-Lighthouse (Miljøfyrtårn), and Norway’s building approval regulations. We are fully certified under both ISO and Eco-Lighthouse standards.

Our system is process-based and managed digitally through Teams/SharePoint, Proresult, and StreamBIM. It covers all aspects of HSE, quality control, risk analysis, emergency preparedness, and internal audits.

Key features:

• Task-based workflows with deadlines, notifications, and recurring task automation
• Version-controlled documentation with access and approval features
• Digital tools for deviation tracking, safety rounds, risk assessments, and internal audits
• Full competence overview of all employees
• Continuous improvement based on real-time system data

The HSE/Quality Manager is responsible for maintaining and updating the system. All employees are expected to report deviations or improvement needs.
